Dirty Hair, Don't Care

How often do you wash your hair?

I try and wash my hair once a week. I stretch it this far for a couple of reasons. First, I like my hair better when it's a little dirty. I have finer hair and from the first day out of my wash, I load my hair with Oribe's Dry Texture Spray. I reapply this spray in my hair everyday to add texture to my hair. Day three and four are my favorite days out of my wash;  at that point my hair is loaded with product and texture and my curl last SO much better.
I also like to bring my natural oils into my hair. The more we strip these oils off our scalp, the quicker they come back. By not washing your hair everyday it will also help with your color (if your hair is color treated).
The last couple of days of my wash really puts me to the test! This is where I have to get creative a bit. I will normally go for an updo of some type. I love doing updos and trying new things. If I have an idea for an updo, these are the days I'll test it out on myself. Also an option I go for on those last days are cute hats. I'll normally throw in a couple of curls (which at this point in the wash, they stay perfect) and then put on a stylish hat to cover my roots. So, next time you see me wearing a hat, know that you don't want to see what's underneath it!

Let's Talk Lashes

.Lashes can make or break your makeup. For an everyday look you may not choose to throw on a pair of lashes, but for special occasions I feel it's a must! The magic of lashes is that they can take your day to day makeup to the next level and the beauty of them is that they come in all different shapes and sizes. You can find super natural to add just a little extra fullness all the way to looking like you have long butterfly wings on your eyelids.

There are many different lash choices on the market at the moment.
Individual glue on Lashes:
This is what I personally like to put on my brides and mother of the brides. I also like to put these on myself if I'm doing a photo shoot. These will be your most natural with no commitment. You can layer these lashes and they come in three different lengths. As I mentioned, I love doing these on brides and mother of the brides due to the simple fact if they get watery and loose a lash, they will still look perfect for the rest of the night.

Strip glue Lashes:
These come in SO many different lengths, thicknesses, styles and also many different materials. They are quick and are on the easier side when it comes to Lashes.

Professional eye lash extensions:
In my personal opinion, these are amazing for the non wearing makeup girl. You wake up, and your good to go. Personally, I like to wear a lot of makeup, and mascara and lashes are my last step. When I had lash extensions I still had to put on mascara to make them black again. Or when they started to come out, I also had to fill the holes with individual lashes. The biggest struggle I had with them was trying to get a thin line with my eyeliner, which I do everyday. I discovered quickly, they were not for me. After talking with others,  it seems to be amazing for those that don't wear a lot of makeup day to day.

Magnetic lashes:
These have just popped up on my radar. I personally have not tried them yet, but they look like they could be great for the person that struggles with putting on lashes.

I like to personally wear lashes every day. It all depends on my makeup look for the direction I end up going with my lashes. I am currently OBSESSED with "Intoxicating" by Flutter Lashes (shown wearing them in the picture above).

Bridesmaid Dresses- Show Me Your Mumu

7/19/2017

So I have to do a huge shout out of gratitude to the company Show Me Your Mumu. The bestie had our bridesmaid dresses picked out as soon as she was engaged and began planning. They are perfect for a beach wedding in Mexico. We each picked a different style dress in the chosen color. My dress arrived and fit great, well except for the length but I'm 5'1 so that's to be expected. However, the color was much brighter than expected. I called the company to see if they would do a return. The woman was friendly, helpful and very informed. I sent them photos side-by-side of my actual dress and the website photo. They agreed to a return even though I exceeded the time line. I sent the dress back on April 27, but should have waited. As we began searching for other dresses nothing was quite right. Even though the Show Me Your Mumu dress was bright it would work, be pretty and

was a perfect fit for all of us bridesmaids. So... I needed to reorder my original dress. This week arrived and I decided to get some things settled for the wedding. I began looking through my statements and realized I never received a refund for my dress. I called customer service but they were closed and on top of that I couldn't find my receipt for mailing back the dress. My stomach instantly dropped and I was worried for the rest of the evening. The next morning I called customer service and was greeted for the second time by the friendliest customer service representative. She apologized instantly for the discrepancy and was about to issue me a refund. I asked if I could reorder the same dress and she immediately processed the order herself. She applied my refund, did not charge me shipping for the return and even refunded me 10% off for being a first time customer. I understand that there were discrepancies on both sides. The Show Me Your Mumu website colors did not match the actual dress and they did not immediately refund my money. However, they allowed me to return outside of the time frame, took the time to pleasantly do every transaction and applied a discount that I was not aware existed. Overall, this has been a great experience that could have turned out much differently. Thank you Show Me Your Mumu!!!
