Born and raised in Sonoma County I have spent most of my time on our family ranch in Sebastopol California. In my teen years I raised horses and was active in the agricultural community. Many weekends were spent traveling to rodeos and barrel races across California. I graduated from Analy High school in the spring of 2006 and attended the Santa Rosa Junior College that fall. With a strong love for science and the medical field I followed in my mother's footsteps and majored in Dental Hygiene. My mother attended college, in neighboring San Francisco, where she graduated as a dental assistant. Over the following years, my academic calendar grew to accommodate a minor in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology.
If you were to tell me when I graduated high school that in a few short years I would be a licensed Cosmetologist working alongside highly talented stylists I might of laughed. I've always had a niche for hair and makeup however, my time was not invested in those skills until my early twenties. In the fall of 2009, I met my husband who was my biggest supporter and the push I needed to attend beauty school. He encouraged me to pursue a path that I would of never walked. September 2010 a new chapter of my life began. Attending a private school opened the door for creative opportunities such as the Roustabout Theatre. Working alongside the Luther Burbank Center of the Arts I was able to design hair and makeup for their theatrical plays. I found a true passion for the creative aspect in theatre and volunteered my time to over fifteen plays. In August 2011 I graduated with honors.
My career began at a local high end Aveda salon where I practiced my skills and specialized in a more therapeutic approach to hair and skincare. However, I found my inspiration and love for the industry quickly dulled. I believe that your environment plays a forceful role in where life leads you. I wear proudly a tattoo on my back that has the script "Love is built within us, for love denatures". The body is made up of millions of enzymes, which die or denature when their environment becomes toxic. The beauty behind this dark mask is if the environment changes to become nurturing again then these enzymes will come back to life and thrive. After only one short year I left the salon and was not planning on returning to the industry. I returned to the Santa Rosa Junior College and began courses in the Veterinary Technician Program.
During this time my husband and I returned to my family’s ranch. I was in need of a part-time job to help supplement my night classes. My search always led me back to what I knew and I applied for a salon coordinator position at Mockingbird Heights A Salon. It is here among these stylists that I connected with Jenny and began assisting her on location at a handful of Sonoma County Weddings. In the salon I specialize in coordinating with brides to make their wedding day a flawless experience. Over the years we have worked along side each other and recently joined with master makeup artist Stephanie to exceed the expectations of our clients. I have great gratitude towards these amazing women for nurturing my passion and choosing me to be apart of this elite team.
